A Map of Foye
The old house on the hill, home of the family who built the quay.
The Trevennas made their money from the harbour dues and spent it on a hall high enough to see every ship before it paid. Its gardens step down the hill in walled terraces, sheltered from the salt wind.
The house kept a map room, and the story goes that the first map of Foye was drawn there, on a table that is still too big to fit through the door.
Walled gardens, and a table too big to have come through the door. I choose for rooms like that, then post it to rooms like ours.
