Inspired by the Cornish coast
Foye is the old name for Fowey, and this is how its harbour master might have drawn it: the quay and the church, the watchman's tower, the ferry across the water, and the lane of shopfronts above the harbour. It is drawn from this coast rather than copied from it — a town to wander, and a way of saying where the things we choose come from.
Letters are the town. Tap one to read what happened there.
Town Quay
Where the pilchard boats came in, and the town's news went out.
BSt Fenna's Church
The tower sailors look for first, and the bells the whole river hears.
CTrevenna Hall
The old house on the hill, home of the family who built the quay.
DThe Watchman's Tower
Where the watchman kept his lantern lit for every ship coming home.
ESilver Cove
A sandy cove named for the pilchard shoals that turned its water silver.
FThe Penruan Ferry
A penny each way across the river, weather permitting.
GPenruan
The fishing village across the water, with the best view of Foye.
Foye is imagined. The places on the map are ours, not addresses in Fowey, and our shops are online only — you will not find them on Fore Street.
Four rooms and the iconkind range, each with its own shopfront. They open here, not on the quay.
Three of the merkind keep the coast's stories: what is true, what is told, and what we made up.
