A Map of Foye
Where the watchman kept his lantern lit for every ship coming home.
On the western headland stands the tower where Foye's watchman kept his lantern burning from dusk to dawn. Ships feeling their way in from the Channel steered by it, and the town slept better knowing that someone was awake.
The legend of the watchman is still told in the town, and iconkind tells it too.
A lantern kept lit all night, in the sort of wind that finds your collar. Wool weather, that.
